A WORD OF HOPE

During this national health crisis, Mirror’s staff and management continue to live out our company’s mission and vision — namely, to serve and provide prevention, behavioral health care and re-entry services to redefine lives. Our staff is calm, steady and displays hope for a better tomorrow during these challenging times.

All of us are being affected by public health decisions that support our health and safety. Our staff members are delivering care to our various clients and residents within this new reality. As you’re aware, Governor Kelly took the bold step to close schools for the remainder of the year. The CDC and public health officials have directed restaurants to eliminate service within their establishments. The impact to our communities, businesses, families and individuals is profound. As a health care organization, our agency seeks to remain a source of strength and continuity for those we serve during this health emergency. As one staff member noted, “Our clients were on a path of personal destruction and early death. We offer them a chance for a future, so we keep going and save lives.”

Our staff have embraced prevention strategies recommended by the CDC and KDHE; thus far, we have experienced few disruptions to the work we provide. Our Emergency Response Planning Committee meets regularly and helps us adapt our service delivery to incorporate telehealth options to remain available to our current and prospective outpatient clients. Our residential facilities provide a safe setting for our residents to prepare for their future. We continue to serve effectively, efficiently and with compassion.

Our work has always been grounded in hope for a better tomorrow. With your support, we are confident we can manage the adversity facing our nation and communities; our work will reveal the people we serve to be enhanced by the care and compassion offered by our staff.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been physically, emotionally, socially and economically affected by this virus outbreak — let hope conquer fear.
